Nokia is back with a bang as it’s New Smartphone is about to hit the markets. HMD Global just released its most affordable Android One smartphone the “Nokia 2.2”.
The new device comes at an incredibly low price of $100. Nokia 2.2 despite its impressive price, still possess all the core smartphone check-boxes.
The phone comes with a 5.7-inch IPS panel with HD+ resolution and a 5MP selfie cam. For the back camera, we have a single 13MP shooter with an LED flash.
Notably absent from Nokia 2.2 is a fingerprint reader, you will have to rely on the face unlock feature for your biometric security.
Helio A22 Chipset with a quad-core processor is will power either the 2GB or 3GB variant. Phone internal storage comes in 16GB/32GB and is expandable via microSD slot.
The phone has a 3,000mAh battery capacity which is pretty decent. Sadly, it charges over micro USB. In terms of Software, No major changes.
HMD devices are part of the Android One program – it runs near stock Android Pie. It is safe to say that the Nokia 2.2 is assured of at least three years of software updates.
This is good news as it will see Android Q and the version after that at the very least.
This software feature alone helps it stand out from a ton of entry-level devices from other manufacturers which are notoriously lacking in the software support department.
There’s also a dedicated Google Assistant button on the left-hand side.
The device will be available in Black and Steel colours. The 2/16GB variant is will cost INR 6,999/$100 whereas the upgraded 3/32GB versions will cost INR 7,999 ($115).
HMD is yet to provide an exact date for the launch of its smartphone but mentioned that it will offer the new smartphone globally for around $112.
