How To Set up A New iPhone
This post is to set up a new iPhone. However, if you are looking to switch from old to a new device. Make sure that you back up your previous iOS device so that you can transfer the content to the new device.
Step 1: Startup The New iPhone
- Long Press on the power button until the “Apple logo” appears.
- Then you’ll see “Hello” in different languages. It’s necessary you follow the steps to get started carefully.
- Next, you will be prompted to choose a language”. Select your country or region as it will determine how information(contacts, date, time, e.t.c) will display on your phone.
Step 2: Activate Your Device
- On this step, you will need a function Wi-FI or data provision to set up your new iPhone

Step 3: Create A PassCode
Create A Passcode This passcode is used to protect your data and also to unlock your device. It also allows you to use features like “Face ID”, Touch ID and Apple Pay. You can also customize your passcode. Just click on “Passcode Options”.
Step 4: Restore
Restore Or Transfer Your Information And Data You can restore information and data in your previous device through your back up in iCloud, iTunes or from your Android device. But if you don’t have any backup or another device, just “Set Up” as a new device.
Step 5: Create An Apple ID
If you are new to the iOS device you need to create an Apple ID to use iCloud, iTunes, Apple Store and more but if you already have an Apple ID, you can just sign in by entering your Apple ID and password. If you have forgotten your password, you can click on forget the password, follow the steps and a recovery mail will be sent to your email.
step 6: Turn On Automatic Updates.
It is important you keep your device up to date to get the latest features, securities, and improvements by simply updating your iOS device. You will be notified before updates are installed. You can either allow automatic installation or install manually from settings.
Step 7: Set up Siri and other services
Now, this is where it gets more interesting, you’d be asked to enable features and services like “Siri”(more like the popular voice command). To use “Siri” press and hold the side button or say “Hey Siri” anytime.
Step 8: Set up Screen Time.
At this point, you have completely set up your new iPhone and it is ready for use.
