Gmail Dark Mode on Android 10
If your device uses Android 10 or iOS13, you can turn on dark mode at the system level. This will cause the Gmail app to auto-adjust to dark mode. However, if you do not use the above-mentioned operating system, you can turn it on separately in the Gmail mobile app. Another option is to upgrade your device to Android 10 or iOS 13.
Turn on Gmail Dark Mode on Android 10
You can enable the dark mode on your device by setting the dark theme on your device. Apps that support dark mode on your device will automatically go dark.
- Go to Settings on your Android device.
- Scroll and tap on the display option.
- Tap on ‘dark’ and the system will automatically respond.
It is very easy to set up on your android device. However, if you want to set it up for your Gmail app (probably, you are using an older version of Android OS). Follow these steps.
- Go to the Gmail app on your phone and follow the hamburger menu in the top corner.
- At the bottom of the menu, tap on settings.
- Next, Tap on General Settings.
- Then tap on “Theme”.
- Tap on Dark.

Gmail Dark Mode on iPhone
You can activate dark mode in your iPhone if your device is already running in iOS 13 by setting the dark theme on your device.
- Go to settings.
- Tap on the display and brightness.
- Select dark and the system will automatically respond.
Apps that support dark mode feature on your device will automatically go dark.
Turn on Gmail Dark Mode on iPhone
if you want to set specially for your Gmail app. Follow these steps.
- Open the Gmail app and tap the hamburger menu in the top corner.
- Then select Settings.
- Select on Theme.
- Tap “Dark”.
If you are running an older version of iOS, follow the steps above through your Gmail App to turn on Gmail’s dark mode on your iPhone.
